2018 SUMMER CAMP Sign Up

Please fill out the form to register for Urban Strings 2018 Summer Camp June 4 - June 8.

Premier and Half Note camp will be held at Broad Street Presbyterian Church, 760 E. Broad St, Columbus, 9:30a.m. to 2:30p.m. 

Quarter Note camp location TBD. 6:00p.m. to 7:30p.m.

The cost of camp is $175.00. A $25.00 deposit is due at the time of registration to reserve your spot. The balance of $150.00 is due by the first day of camp. The cost for a second or third musician is $87.50.

The deadline for registration is May 16th. Checks can be made out to F.A.C.E./Urban Strings and mailed to: Urban Strings Columbus P.O. Box 30421 Columbus, OH 43230. Please write the musician's name in the memo section.

Camp Eligibility:

or students entering grades 4-12 during the 2018-2019 school year, with at least one year of playing experience on their instrument.

Ability Level:

This program is designed to meet the needs of musicians who have had varying levels of training. (Suzuki students, students in school orchestra, students taking private lessons, students participating in other ensembles). Musicians will be placed in summer camp based on skill level. 

Auditions:

Auditions will be for musicians that are new to Urban Strings to determine placement. Auditions will also be for existing Urban Strings members to move up to the next level group. Please note: musicians must have been in their current group for at least one year before they can audition to move up.

Auditions will take place at Mount Vernon AME Church, 1127 Mount Vernon Avenue, Saturday, May 19th and May 26th, from 8:00a.m.-10:00a.m. Musicians should prepare to play 2 scales of choice, a solo piece and will be asked to sight-read. Please follow the link to sign up for an audition time:
